What is Balayage?

Balayage is a coloring technique used to create sun-kissed, natural-looking highlights. Used as an alternative to foil highlighting, it is the action in which hair color is swept or painted on to the hair to create depth and dimension.  Balayage is the in-salon color service choice among the most discerning clients – celebrities, models and fashionistas – that demand hair color to be designed exclusively for them. And Balayage hair painting isn’t just for Blondes! It is perfect for brunettes that want a subtle, sun-kissed look. Celebrities like Jennifer AnistonDrew Barrymoore and Lily Aldridge have put the beachy hair look on the map, and clients across the country are demanding the same natural, sun-kissed effect.

 Benifits of Balayage:

Recession-Proof Style

Salon clients love that Balayage hair painting is less expensive to maintain than traditional highlights. It varies by client, but many can go 3 - 4 months between appointments since their natural hair color will blend in with the natural-looking, painted highlights as it grows.

Balayage allows your salon colorist to utilize their creativity and artistic talent to personalize the placement of each highlight for a customized result.

On Trend

Balayage highlighting is a favorite of celebrities and models like Gisele Bündchen, Eva Longoria and Sarah Jessica Parker!

What is Ombre?

Ombre hair refers to hair color fading from dark to light, or vice versa. Instead of the color starting from the roots, it gradually becomes lighter, or darker, towards the ends. The word "ombre" in French means shadow or shade.

We at Silver Screen Salon understand that things come up when you schedule in advance. Please give us a ring at least 24 hours prior to your appointment if you are unable to be with us.

Due to scheduling commitments, if you are running more than 10 minutes late, we may ask you to reschedule. While we may be able to make up the time by rushing through the remaining time, the work you will receive won’t be as high quality as what we can perform. So for your benefit, and ours, we may have you come in at a different time when we are able to give you the full time frame required to let you leave our salon in Old Hollywood style!

If you are always on time to your appointments, you may be placed on our “On Time” client list which occasionally gets rewarded. We treat our A-list stars well!
